Sailing in the Sunset
The final project for my VFX class involved putting together all of the skills we learned in Maya to create a final animation. Though we were allowed to use third party models, I modeled the boat myself, applied dynamics to the sail, and used an ocean effect to create the scene. I used a sphere, multiple lights, and moving cylinders colored with gradients to simulate a realistic, accelerated sunset. Because my knowledge of the programs was limited to what I had learned in the class, I took this opportunity to apply my knowledge of motion, design, color, and composition to create a scene that effectively expressed my strengths in animation.
