The Hurrell Project
photographic emulation
For the capstone project of my photography class, I was to choose a photographer to emulate and create a series of 5-7 photographs of my own in their style. I chose George Hurrell, a photographer of the 1930s and 40s who, through his portraits of famous and often iconic movie stars of the time, defined what we now know as old Hollywood glamour. Using his dramatic style of lighting and posing, I photographed four models, including myself, to create my series.
